Donald Trump welcomes controversy surrounding golf resort development

Donald Trump has landed in Scotland to view developments at his planned golf resort, which he says he is "pleased" with.
Work has already started on the US billionaire's £750m luxury golf and housing development on the Menie estate in Aberdeenshire.
Mr Trump arrived at Aberdeen Airport by private jet at just before noon on Monday and was accompanied by members of his New York executive team.
Shortly after landing he gave a brief news conference where he said he was pleased with the way things were progressing with his new golf resort. He also said that the controversy surrounding the development has brought him good publicity and how it has put him firmly on the map in Scotland.
The businessman said: "It has been amazing. People don't know how popular this whole project has been. Because of a small controversy with literally a couple of people, it has made world-wide news. That publicity has been very good for the course."
Some residents are refusing to sell their homes to make way for the development, which will include houses and holiday homes.
Campaigners from the Tripping up Trump group, which supports the rights of home owners on the Menie Estate, called on him to use his visit as an opportunity to commit to behaving better towards his neighbours
